Hochecker Charcoal Burning

Charcoal burning is an almost forgotten craft and since 2011 has been on the UNESCO list of intangible cultural heritage in Austria. You’ll find Johann and Theresia Hochecker’s estate farm in Michelbach smoking all through the summer to produce genuine charcoal.

Schallaburg & Wollwerkstatt

For 30 years the wool workshop in the Texingtal valley has been processing Austrian virgin wool. 200,000 kilos of sheeps’s wool are transformed here into blankets, cushions, carpets and many other high-quality natural products.
