
The International Exhibition Centre Schallaburg Castle is located approximately 5 km from Melk (Lower Austria) and is one of the most beautiful Renaissance castles north of the Alps. It is famous for its annually changing, outstanding exhibitions.
From the beginning of May 2010 to the beginning of November 2010 Schallaburg Castle, will be presenting the comprehensive exhibition "The Sixties. Beatles, Pills and Revolt" about the legendary decade.
Wide range of topics
The topic of this extraordinary exhibition focuses on the social events as well as the fundamental changes of the 60's in society, politics, economy and music. The subject area ranges from miniskirts, the construction of the Berlin-Wall, the first landing on the moon as well as the Vietnam War and the murder of J. F. Kennedy to the sexual revolution and much more. This exhibition intends to portray all that the 60’s was famous for.
It conveys a lively compendium of this legendary era and presents a variety of exhibits concerning different aspects of the 60’s.
